The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation (MCHF) is dedicated to promoting and preserving the history and traditions of the United States Marine Corps (USMC). Established in 1979, the private nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization directly supports historical programs of the Marine Corps in ways otherwise unavailable through government funds, including support for the building and expansion of the National Museum of the Marine Corps.
The National Museum of the Marine Corps is the centerpiece of a campus of buildings and outdoor facilities, including a memorial park chapel, parade grounds and hiking trails. The Museum, near Quantico, VA, preserves priceless artifacts, curates and updates the collection, and offers public visition and programs to highlight the role of the Marine Corps throughout the nation's history.
The National Museum of the Marine Corps is a joint venture of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation (MCHF).
